The part nobody else does
The edge
It records, it does not guess. There is no language model writing your steps. Every screenshot is a screenshot you took, every description describes an action that actually happened. Documentation tools that summarise with AI invent the details you needed to be accurate about. This one cannot. Zero cloud upload. No account, no login, no email. Screenshots and guides live in your browser and stay there. Your internal tools, unreleased features and customer data never get sent to a server to be summarised by something. Publish to GitHub Pages in one click. Connect a repository, save the project there, and your guide is a live site on your own infrastructure. Your repo, your hosting, your rules. Zapier, Make and n8n included. Because projects save to GitHub, a commit can trigger a workflow: sync to Confluence, open a task in Asana, notify the team in Teams. Compliance-friendly by architecture. Local processing is compatible with HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, FERPA, HITECH, ISO 27001, SOC 2, COPPA, GLBA and PCI DSS obligations, because the data never leaves the machine you are working on.How a guide gets made
Record it once. Ship it everywhere.
Step oneDo the thing you are documenting
Hit start recording and then work normally. ArkScribe captures a screenshot on every click, identifies the element you hit, records what you type into fields, and detects when you scroll so the element that came into view gets its own shot. You are not filling in a template. You are doing the task, and the guide assembles itself around you.
- Clicks, links and buttons identified by context
- Typed text recorded and consolidated per field
- Scroll detection catches what came into view
- Labels found via HTML label, ARIA and nearby text
Step twoCut it down to the parts that matter
Raw recordings are longer than the guide should be. The timeline editor is where you fix that: drag steps into order, drop the ones that were not instructive, merge three small actions into one clear step, and rewrite any description that came out vague. Annotate the screenshot when a detail is hard to see, draw an arrow, add text, or blur the customer name that happened to be on screen.
- Drag to reorder, delete, combine steps
- Click any description to rewrite it
- Arrows, text, shapes, blur and crop
- Auto-saved, so a closed tab loses nothing
Step threeExport it in whatever shape the reader needs
One export produces every format at once: a print-ready PDF, two HTML variants, two Markdown variants and a folder of PNGs, packaged into a single ZIP. Or push it further and let ArkPres turn the guide into a 2D or 3D presentation video with text-to-speech narration, for the reader who would rather watch than read.
- PDF, HTML and Markdown, embedded or linked images
- ArkPres 2D and 3D video with narration
- PNG folder for slides and wikis
- Custom HTML layouts for branded output
